We are pleased to announce our new CEREC Services

Technology today is changing our everyday lives. Many people, however, aren’t aware that technology also is impacting dentistry in new and exciting ways. Cutting-edge innovations in dental instruments are requiring less time in the dental chair, causing less discomfort and creating satisfying results. One breakthrough innovation, called CEREC 3D, allows dentists to quickly restore damaged teeth with natural-colored ceramic fillings, saving patients time and inconvenience.
Most recently, Dr Barakat returned from Ann Arbour, Michigan where he was trained on the Cerec 3D system. Dr. Barakat and his staff are very excited to bring this technology back to Stittsville and have the ability to provide their patients with the convenience of one appointment crowns and inlays. We invite you to come down to see this exciting new dental technology.

What is Cerec?

CEREC is an acronym for Chairside Economical Restoration of Esthetic Ceramics. Translated, it means that a dentist can economically restore damaged teeth in a single appointment using a high-quality ceramic material that matches the natural color of other teeth.  With CEREC, the procedure is done in a single appointment, start to finish.
We have invested in Cerec technology to make your visit to the dentist quicker and easier, so you can spend more time doing what is important to you.
CEREC is a CAD/CAM system that delivers superb quality porcelain restorations quickly, precisely and efficiently. Just look at these benefits!

  • A single-appointment restoration — only one visit needed `
  • An efficient appointment — less time spent in the dental chair
  • A natural-looking filling — no more silver metal-mouth
  • A healthier, metal-free filling
  • No messy impressions or ill-fitting temporaries
  • A restoration that matches the natural color of your teeth
  • A restoration that is anti-abrasive, bio-compatible and resistant to plaque
  • A durable restoration — CEREC fillings don't break or leak like traditional fillings
Proven technology — ten years of clinical research and over four million restorations performed worldwide. Compare these before and after photos for yourself!

How does the CEREC system work?

After your tooth is prepared, it is scanned with an electronic camera that allows you to see the image on a video screen. The restoration is designed from this scan and then automatically milled out from a solid ceramic block. This is accomplished so precisely that it can be accurately fitted and durably bonded to the prepared cavity. All done!

Single Appointment Dental Care

Most dental restorative methods require more than one visit to the dentist. This means that on the first visit, you get an injection of anesthesia, your tooth prepared, an impression taken, and a temporary restoration put on your tooth. You make a second appointment for a couple of weeks later, get another injection, have the temporary pried off (if it hasn't fallen off already), and have a permanent restoration put on. Why go to the dentist a second time when you don't have to? With CEREC, the procedure is done in a single appointment, start to finish.

With a focus on gentle touch dentistry, and by utilizing new technologies such as the CEREC to provide single visit restorations, we want to make it easy for you to keep your smile looking the best it can be!

How can I find out if this is an option for me?
